Where the wind sings through alpine granite and pine needles murmur a lullaby; Hanging Canyon waits. An emerald fold in the Earth, suspended between sky and stone; we find our heartbeat aligns with the rhythm of wind against stone. The trail rises like a whispered invitation, winding beneath towering spires and into the hush of ancient trees. The lake of the crags appears, and time slackens. Like a revelation, we are cradled in the arms of the Tetons - amidst the sweet aroma of the bloomed wildflowers like faded poems. The lake becomes a mirror to the soul; reflecting something quieter still: a memory, perhaps, of how it feels to be whole. Art project coloring today; a decompression of sorts. I thought I’d color one of Kenai’s favorite apex predator activities: squirrel hunting. She absolutely LOVES the squirrels and can’t wait to pounce and play with these sweet creatures. They might look like easy prey, but they are fierce. Once, the stole her collar and stuffed it in the top of their tree. Ya, these youngsters are legit tough.
